USC football coach Shane Beamer struck inside South Carolina again Wednesday with a commitment from West Florence SAF Kelvin Hunter (6-1 185). Hunter is the fifth in-state prosect to commit to Beamer for the 2024 class. His announcement comes after his latest visit to USC for the spring game Saturday night.
“Honestly, they were the first to ever recruit me and throw me an offer,” Hunter said last month. “They were the first people to always make me feel like they care about me and always staying in touch no matter what. They said I’d be playing nickel. That’s like a safety but much closer to the box. They are saying I’d be a great fit.”
Hunter, who had 103 tackles, six pass deflections, one interception and six blocked kicks last season. He chose USC over Auburn, Virginia Tech, Michigan and Appalachian State.
