For the third consecutive weekend, the 6th ranked USC baseball team will face off against an SEC opponent ranked inside the top five. First it was top ranked LSU, and the Gamecocks split two games in Columbia. Next, it was 4th ranked Vanderbilt, and the Gamecocks lost two of three in Nashville. This week, starting Thursday night in Columbia, the opponent will be 3rd ranked Florida.
The Gamecocks are in third place in the SEC East behind Vanderbilt and Florida. They are 2.5 games back of the Commodores and a half-game back of the Gators.
Wednesday USC coach Mark Kingston met with the media to preview the series with the Gators.
