During his career at Vanderbilt, 6-8 forward Myles Stute had some good games against South Carolina. Now, he’ll play for the Gamecocks. Stute announced Monday afternoon he will continue his career at USC. He made an official visit to Columbia over the weekend. He also drew interest from Georgetown, Arkansas, Cal-Santa Barbara, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma and Ole Miss.

In three seasons with the Commodores Stute played in 91 games. For his career he averaged 7.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He’s a career 38% shooter overall, and 38% from three-point range. He shot 70% from the foul line.

Last season Stute averaged 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in helping Vandy reach the NIT, but he entered the Transfer Portal prior to the start of the tournament.

In two games against USC this season, Stute totaled 15 points and 23 rebounds. In a 2022 contest, he put 19 points on the board against the Gamecocks.

Stute is the third transfer to commit to the Gamecocks and will have two seasons of eligibility. They now have five newcomers slated to join the program next season, and a total of 11 of their 13 scholarship roster spots are accounted for at this point, though another spot will open up if guard Meechie Johnson remains in the NBA Draft.
