SAF Kelvin Hunter of West Florence continues to favor USC as he continues to make visits, including a return visit to Columbia for the spring game Saturday. Hunter also visited USC in January for a junior day. This visit gave him the chance to catch up with several of the Gamecocks 2024 commitments, a group he is strongly considering joining.
“I just went to see and meet other recruits and talk with them and cheer with them,” Hunter said. “I got to meet three or four commits and build a relationship with them. I was hanging out with Dante (Reno), Kam (Pringle), Mazeo (Bennett), William (Gregory) and Mike (Smith). I talked to all the coaches and they were happy to see me. I thought it was great. I got to see one of my friends play, LaNorris Sellers, it was great to see him in the Garnet and Black. I think he did good. You could tell all the college weight he’d put on. I feel like he’s going to be very successful.”
Hunter was at Virginia Tech April 10th. He’s also visited Appalachian State. He has other visits he wants to make, and he has set his date for making a commitment announcement with a clear leader in mind.
“As of right now, it’s South Carolina, then Virginia Tech, then Michigan, Auburn and Appalachian State,” Hunter said. “I plan to go to Michigan and Auburn in a couple of weeks and commit on July 2nd. I have an official visit to South Carolina June 23rd.”
Last season Hunter was in on 103 tackles with 6 pass break ups and 1 interception. He also blocked 6 kicks, forced 4 fumbles and had 2 sacks.
