#STRecruiting Notebook 3-27 (UPDATED)

Greenville High OG Blake Franks has finally set his commitment announcement date. Raiders head coach Greg Porter said Monday Franks will make his announcement Friday at 3:45 PM at the school auditorium. Franks has had a couple of other potential announcement dates during the process only to cancel those plans. Franks has been weighing the options of USC and Clemson the strongest. The Gamecocks appear to have captured his greatest interest in March based on his visits on March 18th and March 23rd. He also visited for their junior day January 21st. His last known visit to Clemson was for their junior day January 28th.

Clemson is in top seven with QB Air Noland (6-3 195) of Fairburn, GA and he will announce on April 8th at 8:30 PM. The others on the short list are Miami, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Oregon. Noland made a two day visit to Clemson March 10th and 11th. He also has been to Arkansas and Miami this month and will go to Ohio State March 31st. In January he made trips to Alabama and Texas A&M.

QB Jadyn Davis of Charlotte included Clemson in his top five, but the Tigers haven’t been heavily involved in months and are more involved with Noland. Davis also has Ohio State, Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee on his short list and will announce next Friday.

USC in the top six with RB Anthony Carrie of Tampa. The others are Oklahoma, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Michigan State. He visited USC for a game last November. HIs most recent visits were to Florida and North Carolina.

USC in the top eight with OT Mike Williams of Upper Marlboro, MD. The others are Michigan State, Maryland, Miami, West Virginia, Tennessee, Southern Cal and Virginia Tech. He attended a junior day at USC January 21st. This spring he has been to Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, NC State, Virginia Tech and Tennessee. In April he will visit Michigan State, Southern Cal and will make a return trip to USC for the spring game weekend.

  • 2025 OT Nick Brooks of Buford, GA

RB Tyler Mason (6-0 190) of Mount Airy, NC also made a visit to USC Saturday. He said there’s pretty strong interest both ways. #Gamecocks have not yet offered. He does have offers from Boston College, Virginia Tech, Louisville, ECU and others.

Punter Drew Miller of Mediapolis, IA visited USC Thursday and Duke Saturday.

DE Caleb Dozier (6-3 210) of Dothan, AL visited USC Thursday. He was offered by Coastal Carolina while on a visit Saturday. He also has offers from UCF, Mississippi State and Houston. Dozier is also a receiver and last season had 54 catches for 1009 yards and 11 touchdowns.

2025 OG Chauncey Gooden of Nashville will visit Auburn Monday, USC March 31st and Clemson April 1st. Georgia offered over the weekend.

Per coach Kelvin Roller, Dillon OT Josiah Thompson will now announce April 14th at 900 AM, not the 11th. That’s a better date for family to attend.

2025 WR/CB Pedro Reyes of Cardinal Newman plans to visit Cincinnati April 3rd.

2026 QB Josiah Oxendine of Dillon visited Florida State Saturday.

USC offered DT TJ Lindsey (6-5 270) of Bryant, AR.

USC target WR James Madison will visit Michigan Sunday.

WR Jonathan Paylor still calls USC his leader after Friday visit to NC State according to a story in Pack Pride.

Clemson target WR Alex Taylor visited NC State Thursday.

USC target TE Caleb Odom visited Ole Miss Saturday.

Clemson target DT Malik Blocton visited Florida Saturday.

USC target OT Malachi Toliver of Cartersville, GA committed to Georgia. He visited USC for their junior day in January and had the Gamecocks in his top 10.

USC target RB Chris Davis of Picayune, MS committed to Ole Miss. He attended the USC junior day in January.

ATH Brandon Winton of IMG Academy, who had an offer from USC, committed to USF.

USC 2025 baseball commitment Micah Matthews of Bridgewater, VA was offered by Virginia Tech.

Northwestern RB Turbo Richard visited North Carolina over the weekend.

6-10 Dayton transfer Mustapha Amzil made an official visit to USC this past weekend he confirmed on Sunday before boarding his plane. He’s a native of Finland and is also drawing interest from Memphis, New Mexico, Virginia and Maryland. He averaged 9 points and 5 rebounds per game this season.

Also visiting USC over the weekend was 6-4 Ta’Lon Cooper, a Dorman graduate who played this season at Minnesota. Before that he spent three seasons at Morehead State. He averaged 10 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game this season.

USC also is hosting teammates from Finland on official visits which started Sunday. 6-4 Morris Ugusuk has also taken officials to Oklahoma and Duquesne. 6-9 Okku Federiko has also taken an official to Duquesne. His brother plays at Pitt. Both have visited USC before.

Clemson is among the schools to have contacted Syracuse transfer guard Joe Girard according to Zagsblog.

Former Clemson SF Chauncey Gibson is transferring to Tulsa.

6-10 DJ Basey of Coastal Carolina, 6-4 Jalen Forest of Presbyterian, 6-5 Linton Brown of Coastal Carolina and 6-3 Jonathan Steelman of Wofford are in the Transfer Portal per Verbal Commits.
