Beamer gives second update of spring on #Gamecocks (AUDIO)

Dakereon Joyner may have a new home at running back (Chris Gillespie)

The USC football team is four practices into their spring camp and all is good thus far in the opinion of coach Shane Beamer. During his weekly spring media session Tuesday, Beamer allowed that he’s been very pleased with the effort and energy of his players to this point, and they’ve avoided any major injuries.

Beamer said the move of WR Dakereon Joyner to running back has gone well and Joyner is a natural at the position. The move could be permanent though they could always move Joyner back to the outside. Beamer said he told Joyner they are just a better team when he’s on the field.

Beamer also said they are attempting to streamline communication this spring so that quarterback Spencer Rattler doesn’t have to look at an armband of roughly a hundred play calls. Pro elements remain in the offense, they are just trying to make the play calling process simpler and smoother.
