Monte Lee has been through this reunion thing before. In his first season as head coach at Clemson in 2016, he faced his alma mater and previous employer The College of Charleston in a two game series. Lee is now the Associate Head Coach at USC, and Friday he’ll be in the visitor’s dugout at Doug Kingsmore Stadium wearing the Garnet and Black, not the Orange and White.
Wednesday Lee met with the media to discuss the emotions he is having about returning to the place where he was the head coach for seven seasons. He also addressed questions about the Gamecocks’ hot start at the plate. The Gamecocks have a team batting average of .322, 27th highest in the country. They lead the nation with 27 home runs, are 2nd in hit batters with 33, 3rd in slugging percentage at .664, 3rd in runs scored with 105, 5th in walks with 66 and 8th in ERA at 2.00.
