The top-ranked USC women’s team ran their school record winning streak to 32 games with an 87-56 blowout of SEC rival Florida on Thursday night before 13,943 rowdy fans at the Colonial Life Arena.

The game was over by halftime, as the Gamecocks used a 22-6 second quarter blitz to lead by thirty at the break, 51-21.

Zia Cooke led four Gamecocks in double figures with 22 points. Brea Beal followed with a career-high 14, Ashlyn Watkins had 12 and Victaria Saxon added 11. Watkins also grabbed 10 rebounds as she recorded a double-double for Dawn Staley’s squad, with all 14 players getting playing time.

Reigning National Player of the Year Aliyah Boston played less than 15 minutes, scoring 4 points, grabbing 6 boards and contributing an assist as she essentially was given the night off against the undermanned Gators.

The Gamecocks dominated the boards throughout, doubling up Florida with 55 rebounds on the night to Florida’s 27. In fact, Carolina matched the Gators’ 18 defensive rebounds with 18 offensive rebounds on the same end of the court.

Next up for the Gamecocks is Ole Miss on Sunday in Oxford. The game will tip at 4:00 PM and will be televised on the SEC Network.
