#STRecruiting: CB Omillio Agard excited about Saturday’s visit to #Clemson

Saturday will be Clemson’s major junior day event for January and the Tigers are bringing in around 25 of their top targets for the 2024 class. One of those is highly regarded CB Omillio Agard (6-0 170) of Philadelphia. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and corners coach Mike Reed made Agard one of their early summer offers after seeing him in camp, but they’ve known him a lot longer.

“Me and Coach Reed and Coach Swinney, it’s been a three-year relationship.  They’ve been recruiting me since I was a freshman,” Agard said.  “It’s a great program.  It’s a family feel.  There are great people in the system.  Coach Reed can develop me to be one of the best on the next level and after that.  And they better me as a human being.  They just have everything.”

Agard missed four games last season with hip and ankle injuries. He still managed 30 tackles and 18 pass deflections. It’s his ability to play all over the field, he said, that impresses Reed the most.

“He likes my versatility.  I can play everything,” Agard said.  “He also likes my feet.  He thinks I have some of the quickest feet, if not the quickest feet, in the country in my class.  He said my technique is past my age.  He said I play like I’m already in college.  And he likes my intelligence.”

Agard has watched the Clemson secondary closely and how Reed works his corners. He said it’s a style that fits him perfectly.

“I like how they disguise coverages.  That’s what I do,” Agard said.  “I like how they play man.  If you can’t play man, you can’t play corner.  That’s what he told me.  I truly believe I’m a man corner, and that’s what they play most of the time.  That’s me.  That’s just what I do.”

Agard has a top five of Clemson, Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee and Penn State. Last weekend he was at Penn State for a junior day. Last season he went to games at Clemson, Tennessee, Penn State and Michigan. His plan is to take some official visits in the summer and then make is decision. He said there is no favorite among his top five.
