#STRecruiting: RB Mario Anderson Jr. discusses transfer to USC on SportsTalk (AUDIO) #Gamecocks

Mario Anderson Jr. is excited about getting his shot in the SEC (Newberry Athletics)

The rise of running back Mario Anderson Jr. from a lightly recruited prospect from Stratford High School to the SEC is one of the feel-good stories of the recruiting season for USC. Anderson spent three seasons at Newberry capping his time there with an All-American season.

This season of over 1500 rushing yards convinced Anderson he could play at a higher level, so he entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. USC, in need of running backs, offered, and the rest is history as Anderson publicly committed to the Gamecocks Sunday afternoon.

Monday night, Anderson joined us on SportsTalk to talk about his journey from overlooked in high school, to D2 All-American and now to the SEC.
