#STRecruiting: #Clemson looks in good shape with two running backs who made official visits over the weekend

Jamarius Haynes

Clemson showed off their running game in the loss to USC Saturday rushing the ball 37 times for 237 yards. That no doubt caught the attention of two running backs who were in on official visits over the weekend, Jamarius Haynes of Roanoke, AL and Christopher Johnson of Fort Lauderdale. Both came out of the weekend with Clemson their leader.

“Clemson is at the top of the list.  The favorite,” Haynes said.  “There’s not too many teams in competition.  I only have two offers (Washington State).  I told them today they are definitely at the top of my list.  I told them I would end up signing in December.”

Haynes said the relationship he has built with running backs coach CJ Spiller, head coach Dabo Swinney and the other coaches was important in his decision-making process.

“The coaches stood out.  Each and every coach meet and greet you when you come in,” Haynes said.  “They have a great attitude and I have a connection with just about every coach now.  They said I could be great for the team.  Coach Swinney said what he liked about me was that I was just unique.”

Haynes said he plans to sign in December and will go public with a commitment announcement at some point. He does not have plans to make any other visits.

Johnson told Ryan Wright of Rivals that he is now favoring Clemson over Miami, Ole Miss and Penn State. He will still make an official visit to Penn State December 9th, but he indicated in the article he was pretty set on going with the Tigers.
