#23–Coastal Carolina wraps up the regular season this Saturday as the Chanticleers put their five-game road winning streak on the line at James Madison. The Dukes are ineligible for the Sun Belt Conference championship game as well as a bowl contest as they transition from FCS to FBS football. So, CCU head coach Jamey Chadwell believes JMU will put everything it has into this weekend’s finale.
“JMU is going to be motivated because this is their bowl game and their championship game,” Chadwell told the media during his weekly press conference on Wednesday.
He also confirmed that quarterback Grayson McCall would not be available for the matchup after suffering a foot injury during the Chanticleers’ victory over Appalachian State on November 3rd. Backup quarterbacks Jarrett Guest and Bryce Carpenter helped lead the Chanticleers to a victory against Southern Mississippi two weeks ago.
“He’s still rehabbing,” the veteran head coach detailed with regards to McCall’s injury. “He’s out of his boot, so that’s good. There’s no shot that he’s playing this week.”
The third ever meeting between Coastal and James Madison is set to kick off at noon from Harrisonburg, Virginia, on Saturday. The contest will be televised on ESPNU.
