CB Tavoy Feagin (6-0 170) of Tampa Sunday announced a commitment to Clemson becoming the Tigers’ first pledge for their 2024 class. Feagin narrowed his decision to Clemson, Miami, Alabama, Florida State and LSU before settling on the Tigers.
His announcement came a day after he made an unofficial visit to Florida State.
Feagin performed in front of Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed in camp last summer. He returned for an unofficial visit for the NC State game.
Swinney has strong ties to Feagin’s family as his father Michael played under Swinney when he was a graduate assistant coach at Alabama. In making his announcement via 247Sports, Feagin said the relationship his family has with Swinney was a major factor in his decision.
“The relationship with Coach Swinney, I felt, was more than football with him,” Feagin said. “My parents felt closer with him and the relationship there is just amazing. It’s an amazing feeling. I’m ready to be a Tiger. I’m going to be a leader, a hard worker, and I’m ready to be a Tiger.”
Feagin added this decision boiled down to how he felt about the coaches he dealt with in the recruiting process, and he felt best about Clemson.
“Really, just my relationship with the coaches and how me and my family felt about the program,” Feagin said.
Through seven games this season, Feagin had 21 tackles and 7 pass deflections.
Clemson also is in line for a Monday morning commitment from 2023 DE Tomarrion Parker of Phenix City, AL. He visited Clemson again on Saturday. He is set for his reveal at 9:00 AM with Tennessee, Florida and Georgia the other finalists.
