There is still more work to be done, but Clemson is one spot closer to the college football promised land. The Tigers moved up one position in the College Football Playoff Top 25 released Tuesday night. The Tigers defeated Louisville Saturday in Death Valley and were promoted from 10th to 9th in the committee’s ranking.
The top four teams are the remaining undefeated teams in the FBS. Georgia remained #1 and was followed by Ohio State, Michigan and TCU.
Tennessee, which will play USC Saturday night in Columbia, is the highest ranked one-loss team at #5. A two-loss LSU team is ranked 6th and is followed by Southern Cal, Alabama, Clemson and Utah. The Crimson Tide also has two losses.
