South Florence QB LaNorris Sellers continues to roll through the playoffs. He led the Bruins to a second-round win over Bluffton Wednesday night passing for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first half. As for his recruiting, Sellers said he’s been hearing from Georgia of late, and the Bulldogs told him they want to build a relationship with him. He also continues to hear regularly from USC coach Shane Beamer, and he’s invited him to visit for the Tennessee game November 19th. However, Sellers said he still feels “pretty firm” with his commitment to Syracuse, and he’s planning to watch them in person when they play at Wake Forest November 19th. Sellers will be signing in December and will enroll in school in January.
TE Luke Chilton of Fredericksburg, VA talked with USC tight ends coach Jody Wright Thursday night, which has been their routine. They have been talking about the possibility of a preferred walk-on offer, and Chilton said Wright indicated to him that could be coming his way when they talk next week. Chilton visited USC for the Texas A&M game and said he will return for a bowl practice. He said once he gets the PWO offer from USC, he’ll have that as an option along with a PWO offer from Virginia Tech, an offer from Army and a division three school he likes that’s offering him the chance to play football and basketball.
DE Tyree Weathersby said he continues to communicate with USC DL coach Jimmy Lindsey, and the two are working on a visit date. He remains committed to Tennessee and was there for the Alabama game. He’s also hearing a good bit from Oklahoma.
DT Xzavier McLeod of Camden is currently committed to USC, but Thursday he was showing off some Miami gear in a post on Instagram, and he recently visited Florida for a game.
USC target RB Khalifa Keith plans to visit Tennessee Saturday.
2024 WR TJ Moore of Tampa plans to visit Clemson Saturday. He also was offered by Ole Miss.
2024 ATH Mikel McLellan of JL Mann plans to visit Clemson Saturday, his second game visit of the season with the Tigers.
Clemson target 2024 RB Boo Carter plans to visit Ole Miss this Saturday.
USC and Clemson target 2024 TE Caleb Odom was offered by Virginia Tech.
USC target 2024 DE Jordan Ross was offered by Cincinnati.
2024 OT Blake Franks of Greenville made an unofficial visit to Clemson Tuesday.
Per Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, 2024 WR Ryan Wingo (6-2 198) of St. Louis plans to visit Clemson for the Miami game. He will be at Ole Miss this Saturday and Missouri the final weekend of the month.
Clemson and USC target 2025 OT David Sanders of Charlotte was offered by Texas A&M.
Basketball News:
2024 6-4 Cam Scott of Lexington will take his official visit to Auburn this weekend. He has taken an official visit to USC and is also scheduled for visits to Duke and Texas. He also plans to take one to Florida State.
USC women Thursday landed 5-6 Milaysia Fulwiley of Keenan. She chose the Gamecocks over Ole Miss, Louisville and Florida. She’s been part of five straight teams to reach the state championship game winning four titles. Last season she averaged over 30 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists per game. She has scored over 2300 points in her career. Fulwiley gives the Gamecocks four signees in the 2023 class.
USC women also announced the signing of prior commitment 6-1 Sahnya Jah.
Wofford basketball signed 6-8 Jeremy Lorenz of Brillion, WI and 6-8 Elijah Strong of Charlotte.
Furman added guards 6-4 Eddrin Bronson of Tampa and 6-5 Tommy Humphries of Minneapolis.
