Clemson suffered a convincing loss at Notre Dame Saturday night and as a result plummeted in the Sunday polls. Likewise, the Tigers will drop out of the top four of the CFP Ranking Tuesday night. On his media call Sunday night, head coach Dabo Swinney acknowledged little went right for his team in South Bend while at the same time crediting the Irish for their performance.
But the theme of the call by Swinney was there’s plenty of season left and the only goal they can’t achieve is an undefeated season. Swinney noted there are just four unbeatens left in the country, and there are seven 8-1 teams like his.
Swinney said Beaux Collins is definitely out for this Saturday’s game with Louisville, and he’s waiting on more information from his medical people on Xavier Thomas who missed the Notre Dame game.
The Tigers have opened as 7.5-point favorites over the Cardinals.
