#Clemson dives in AP Poll

A playoff spot is now a real long shot for Dabo Swinney and Clemson (TigerNet)

Saturday night’s big loss at Notre Dame resulted in voters in the AP Poll dropping Clemson seven spots from 5th to 12th. They also voted the Irish back into the ranking at #20. Georgia remains at the top of the AP Top 25 and received 62 of the 63 first place votes. The other went to #2 Ohio State. Michigan moved up a spot to #3 and TCU climbed three places to #4.

Tennessee, tied with Ohio State at #2 last week, fell to 5th after their lopsided loss at Georgia. Oregon, LSU, Southern Cal, UCLA and Alabama fill out the top 10.

Coastal Carolina received enough votes to accumulate 46 points, and USC also received votes worth six points.

  1. It goes to show that an ACC team ranked too high, embarrassed the ranking people by being exposed as the fraud they were and even at 12, they are ranked too high. An SEC team takes a loss and doesn’t fall near as far, though, I could see Tenn. beating Ohio State. We still have some ball left, so we’ll see.
