Mike Furrey Act 2 at Limestone opens Thursday night at Gardner-Webb. The former NFL receiver and assistant coach was 9-12 in his first stint with the Saints in 2016 and 2017. He returned to the NFL to join Matt Nagy’s staff in Chicago.
When Nagy was fired after last season, Furrey was brought back to Gaffney to try to revive the fortunes of the Saints who were winless in Brian Turk’s final season.
The Saints are going into just their ninth season of football and are looking for their first winning season. They have lost 26 of their last 30 games.
