The wait for a commitment announcement from WR Carmelo Taylor (6-0 170) of Roanoke, VA will continue for an undetermined amount of time. Taylor was set to announced last Sunday afternoon but backed off that date. Thursday night he informed us he is still not ready to go forward with a decision.
“I think I’m gonna wait a lil bit,” Taylor wrote in a text message. He did not elaborate as to how much longer he plans to wait.
Taylor has been working off a short list of USC, Virginia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia and Maryland. The Gamecocks and Hokies are perceived as the frontrunners. He took official visits to both in June. He also camped at USC in June, and he made unofficial visits to Virginia Tech in June and last weekend.
Taylor is one of the fastest players still available in the 2023 class. He is the 5A 100-meter and 200-meter state champion in Virginia.
