Can USC pull in wide receivers Daidren Zipperer and Tyler Williams, teammates at Lakeland (FL) High School? That possibility still exists. Zipperer said Monday night he does not know what Williams will do but playing together with the Gamecocks is not out of the realm of possibility. Zipperer said he’s been talking with his USC recruiter Torrian Gray and they are set on him coming in for an official visit in September, date still to be determined. Zipperer considers the Gamecocks a “big contender” along with UCF, BYU, Pitt an USF. At this point he does not have any other visits scheduled. He has taken official visits to UCF and Pitt, and he’s taken unofficials to USC and Pitt. He plans a decision the end of September. Williams made official visits to Clemson, USC, Georgia, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
Clemson picked up a baseball commitment from 2024 Hilton Head Prep utility player Steele Burd. Here’s the Perfect Game scouting report: Medium build with good present strength and room for more. 7.52 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has nice lower half explosion and quickness, really comes out of his crouch well, good arm strength with a clean transition, makes accurate throws. Right-handed hitter, starts from a rock back lower half load with quiet hands and good balance and timing, direct line drive swing with some present bat speed, repeats his swing very well, best contact to left centerfield.
