Spencer Strider’s former head coach reveals why he’s having success with the #Braves (AUDIO)

Clemson alum Spencer Strider was selected in the 4th RD of the 2020 draft by the Atlanta Braves (Braves)

Spencer Strider of the Atlanta Braves is in the running for the National League “Rookie of the Year,” and with the numbers he has posted, could anyone argue with his selection? The former Clemson Tiger is one of four Atlanta pitchers to have recorded 100+ (110) strikeouts thus far this season. He has also compiled a 4-2 record with a 2.56 ERA and is a key cog in the rotation for the Braves, who currently trail the New York Mets by 2.5 games in the NL East standings.

With the “All-Star” break approaching, Strider’s former college coach, Monte Lee, joined SportsTalk on Wednesday to brag about his pupil. Lee also discussed Strider’s interesting nutritional routine, his invisible fastball, and what Tommy John surgery meant for the right-hander’s development.
