


Clemson is in the top ten with 2024 DT Champ Thompson of Norcross, GA. The others are Texas, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Georgia and Miami. Thompson visited Clemson June 11th. USC was among his other offers which also included Auburn, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, Louisville, Notre Dame, NC State.
USC is in the top four with OL Kamen Smith along with NC State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech. He will announce on Sunday. Smith made an unofficial visit to USC in June, and official visits to NC State, Virginia Tech and North Carolina in June. He also made a visit to Clemson but wasn’t offered. Some of his other offers were Duke, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Charlotte and Liberty.
Clemson offered RB Christopher Johnson (5-11 178) of Fort Lauderdale. He camped at Clemson in June and named the Tigers last month in his top six along with Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Johnson took an official visit to Rutgers in June. He also took unofficial visits to USC and Miami.
In an interview with Adam Friedman of Rivals, DE Desmond Umeozulu of Upper Marlboro, MD cited the USC coaches as the ones he hears from the most, and that would make a difference in his decision. He took officials to USC, UNC, Pitt and Ohio State. He said a commitment announcement would be coming “pretty soon.”
