Two former Michigan baseball commitments announced on Wednesday they are headed to Clemson to play for Erik Bakich, the coach who recruited them to Michigan. Shortstop Nolan Nawrocki (6-2 190) of Rockville Centre, MD and RHP Joe Allen (6-4 215) of Hampton Falls, NH announced their change of direction on Twitter. Perfect Game has this scouting report on Nawrocki: “Very athletic build with good present strength, especially in his lower half. Right-handed hitter, hits from a spread balanced stance, late hand raise load but is well timed with it, gets his strong lower half into his swing well to help create bat speed, line drive gap to gap approach with the bat speed to drive the ball with power. Outstanding runner, 6.53 in the sixty. Elite level arm strength in the infield, makes accurate throws with plus carry, uses his feet well to work behind the ball.” And on Allen, Perfect Game had this comment: “Big Northeast arm, up to 95 at the 17U WWBA with a power breaking ball.” They will join two former Michigan players who are transferring to Clemson…RHP Willie Weiss and INF Riley Bertram.
