#STRecruiting Notebook 6-23

Camden DT Xzavier McLeod Wednesday named his top six schools and USC is among the half-dozen still in the running. McLeod also named LSU, Georgia, Florida, Michigan and Texas A&M on his short list. McLeod cut Auburn, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and Florida State from his previous short list. He is coming off an official visit to LSU, after which he told one media outlet that the Tigers are now tops on his list and is headed to Michigan for an official visit this weekend. He also has taken unofficial visits to USC, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, Auburn, LSU, Texas, Alabama and Texas A&M.

Clemson offered 2024 DE Elijah Rushing (6-6 230) of Tuscon, AZ. Georgia, Florida, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Pitt, Jackson State, Oregon, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, North Carolina, Kentucky and Penn State are some of the other offers for the national level recruit. He was at Clemson Wednesday, a day after visiting Georgia.

Wren SAF Travon West will take an official visit to Indiana this weekend.

Clemson offered 6-7 Asa Thomas of Lake Forest, IL. Some other offers are Ohio State, Penn, Yale, Minnesota, Iowa, Santa Clara, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, DePaul and Illinois.

Clemson offered 6-3 PG Mike Williams of Baltimore. He also has offers from College of Charleston, VCU, LSU, Maryland, Houston, DePaul and LSU among others.

USC landed a third former Clemson player in RHP Ricky Williams (and Columbia native) from the transfer portal. He made nine appearances this season and was 2-0 with a 2.95 ERA. He struck out 12 and walked 13 in 21.1 innings pitched. Williams prepped at River Bluff.

Michigan RHP Willie Weiss (6-3 225) is transferring to Clemson for his final season. In three seasons with the Wolverines, Weiss went 9-6 with 17 saves and a 3.67 ERA. He struck out 127 and walked 66.
