Listen to Monte Lee on SportsTalk (AUDIO) #Clemson

Monte Lee is in the market for another college baseball coaching job (Clemson Athletics)

The last day of May turned out to be the last day of employment as the baseball coach at Clemson for Monte Lee. After seven seasons, 242 wins and four NCAA Tournament appearances, the recent backup by the program forced the hand of AD Graham Neff. Neff and associate athletic director Kyle Young, who oversees the baseball program, met with Lee Tuesday morning and informed him he would not return as the Tigers’ coach in 2023. Neff told the media Tuesday afternoon the school would owe Lee 500 thousand dollars for the remainder of his contract.

Lee was cleaning out his office early Tuesday evening when he joined us on SportsTalk. He shared some insight into the meeting with Neff and Young, some thoughts on the season and his Clemson career and what he plans to do in the future now that it does not include wearing the traditional Clemson paw on his jersey.
