
South Carolina’s college footbal bowl game returns to the “Grand Strand” for a third consecutive year this December as the Myrtle Beach Bowl has released the details for its upcoming game. According to the bowl, the contest will take place on Monday, December 19th at Brooks Stadium in Conway. Coastal Carolina University will once again serve as the host school for the bowl which will kickoff at 2:30pm on ESPN television.

“The Myrtle Beach Bowl received overwhelming support from the participating schools and throughout our community the past two years,” said Rachel Quigley, executive director. “We are diligently planning for December, and are eager to continue growing this event for the good of our community and for the two deserving football programs and their fans.”
“We could not be more excited with this date for the 2022 Myrtle Beach Bowl now in its third year,” said Karen Riordan, President & CEO, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Visit Myrtle Beach. “We look forward to welcoming the teams and their fans to the Grand Strand for what is sure to be a memorable week of activities and another exciting game.”
The matchup will feature schools from two of three NCAA Division I conferences: Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference and the Sun Belt Conference.
The 2021 Myrtle Beach Bowl featured Tulsa vs. Old Dominion, with the Golden Hurricanes defeating the Monarchs 30-17. After ODU scored on a record-setting 100-yard opening kickoff for a touchdown to begin the Bowl Season, Tulsa rebounded for the win as Davis Brin passed for 285 yards and two touchdowns, while being named the game’s MVP after setting the Myrtle Beach Bowl passing yards record.
