#STRecruiting: Georgia CB Strozier gives #Clemson four commitment for 2023 class

Branden Strozier

CB Branden Strozier (6-2 175) of Alpharetta, GA Friday night announced a commitment to Clemson. Strozier chose the Tigers from an offer list that also included Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Louisville, Florida State, Missouri, Iowa State, Central Florida, Wake Forest, Florida and Minnesota.

Strozier visited Clemson in March and returned for the spring game in April. Over the recruiting process, he and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed developed a strong relationship. One thing Reed liked about Strozier was his size as a corner.

“The size I am now I’m able to use my feet and play like a smaller DB,” Strozier said earlier this year.  “That’s the main thing, that I’m bigger.”

Strozier is well aware of Clemson’s history with their corners. The Tigers just had two picked in the NFL Draft. He said the way Reed develops his players was an important part of his decision.

“The physicality and the technique that they’ve been playing there. That’s what I really like about their defensive backfield,” Strozier said. “They really liked me, and they felt that I would be a great fit. They feel like I’m a person that Clemson needs and I’m the type of person that Clemson wants. I felt like I would be a great fit in their defensive scheme. Me being able to play not just man but zone too.”

Strozier is scheduled for his Clemson official visit on June 3rd. He had also scheduled an OV for Tennessee for June 17th, but as a Clemson commitment, he will have to cancel that.

Strozier is the fourth commitment for the Clemson 2023 recruiting class. Last season he had 50 tackles and three interceptions.
