USC football will wrap up spring practice under the lights on Saturday (USC Athletics)

Spring football practice is almost over for the USC football team as the Gamecocks will host their annual “Garnet and Black” game on Saturday night at 7pm inside Williams-Brice Stadium. The contest will be the culmination of what the university is billing as “Big Gamecock Weekend”. Several teams will be in action prior to the spring game, including baseball’s weekend series with nationally ranked Ole Miss beginning Thursday.

Prior to kickoff, USC made available several players to the media on Wednesday to give their take on spring practice and Saturday night’s game under the lights. Transfer QB Spencer Rattler says he’s, “really comfortable right now,” leading the Gamecocks offense. Meantime RB Marshawn Lloyd seems overjoyed about participating in his first spring game at USC. Wake Forest transfer Christian Beal-Smith was the most talkative of the bunch, expressing how much of an adjustment period it has been for him on and off the field.
