#STRecruiting: #Clemson loses another guard to the transfer portal

Al-Amir Dawes is the second Clemson guard to enter the transfer portal this offseason

Al-Amir Dawes has entered the transfer portal, according to Verbal Commits. The junior guard averaged a career-high 11 points per game this past season, starting 25 games for the Tigers. Clemson has now lost two prominent members of its backcourt since the end of the season, as Nick Honor entered the portal two weeks ago.

Dawes had a four-game stretch in late February against Florida State, Louisville, Wake Forest, and Boston College in which he averaged 18 points per game and shot 46% on 3-pointers (17-for-37). At Louisville, he had 18 points (6-for-10 on threes) and seven rebounds. Clemson has also lost David Collins (10.3 points, team-leading 6.9 rebounds) as well as Naz Bohannon (5.7 points, 4.1 rebounds). The duo were one-year players from the transfer portal. Hunter Tyson (10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds) has announced he will return for a fifth year of eligibility.
