On the day former USC men’s coach Frank Martin found his new home as the head coach at Massachusetts, Gamecock guard Jeremaine Couisnard began a search for a new basketball home by entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. He’s the second Gamecock in as many days to enter the Portal following fellow guard Erik Stevenson.
Couisnard had a mercurial career at USC. He arrived in 2019 out of East Chicago, IN and Montverde Academy in Florida. He redshirted his first season and then became a lead offensive weapon for the Gamecocks, when he wasn’t in Martin’s doghouse. Couisnard averaged double figures all three seasons he played a USC.
He started 46 of 73 games for his career and averaged 11.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. Couisnard was known for his outside shooting and overcome a troublesome sophomore season, when he shot just 30% from the floor, to shoot just under 40% this season. He finished his career at USC as a 37% shooter.
