#STRecruiting: #Clemson newest offer for Finnish OL

Olaus Alinen

OT Olaus Alinen (6-7 315) is taking the recruiting world by storm. The native of Finland, who attends the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut and is the son of a former NFL offensive lineman, picks up new major offers everywhere he goes. The latest was from Clemson, where he visited on Tuesday along with 2024 teammates QB Dante Reno and CB Jaiden Spearman.

Alinen also has visited Alabama, Southern Cal, Ohio State and Florida. He will visit Georgia Thursday and USC Monday. Earlier this week, before the Clemson visit, Alinen detailed what he’s looking for on these visits.

“See their culture, the way they operate and do things, what are their values,” Alinen said.  “How people interact with each other.  How the coaches interact with the players.  How the players interact with me.  How I click with the coaches.  What’s their coaching style.  What do the guys do in practice.  What can they offer outside of football school-wise, education-wise, life teaching.  Just the overall package like getting developed as a person, as a player and being a student there.”

Alinen was not available for comment on his Clemson visit Wednesday, but about his earlier visits, he said this week all were good.

“They were great experiences,” Alinen said.  “Everybody really has something good to offer.  I think in the end it comes down to the opportunities to succeed in life and being in a place where you feel comfortable.”

Alinen said he will take more visits this spring and then decide from the visits he’s taken which ones he wants to see with his family on official visits.
