
The coaches from USC and Gardner-Webb agreed prior to the 10-run rule prior to their Tuesday night game in Columbia, and it came into play. The Gamecocks claimed a 12-0 win with the game ending following the Bulldog’s at-bat in the top of the seventh. It’s the third straight win for the Gamecocks who improve to 10-6.
The Gamecocks scored in all six of their at-bats with a four-run 4th and a three-runA 6th their biggest innings. Brandt Belk and Kevin Madden had homers and drove in two runs each. Elijah Lambros drove in three runs with a single and a fielder’s choice.
Aidan Hunter started for USC and allowed four hits over four innings. He earned the win to go to 3-2. Cade Austin and Michael Esposito followed up on the mound.
The Gamecocks will now open SEC play Friday at 7th ranked Tennessee.
