#STRecruiting: Griffin gives #Clemson rave review after official visit

Kylon Griffin

One of the four official visitors for Clemson over the weekend was SAF Kylon Griffin (6-1 160) of Montgomery, AL. The former Mississippi State commitment has been a hot commodity since going back on the market. He went to Nebraska for an official visit January 14th and is scheduled to visit Southern Cal this coming weekend. But that trip is now in doubt after the Clemson experience.

“I loved it up there. The whole coaching staff, they really stood out,” Griffin said. “Just really great people. I love just seeing how Dabo (Swinney) has really built the culture. I just loved how everyone was just so comfortable around each other. Everyone seemed like a family. Even though some of us had never been around each other or seen each other before, it seemed like we had known each other for forever and no one was scared to talk. My mother and father really loved the trip and they loved it as well. They thought the same as I did, if not more.”

Tiger freshman sensation safety Andrew Mukuba served as Griffin’s player-host, and he also spent a lot of his time with safeties coach and co-Defensive Coordinator Mickey Conn.

“He was just preaching to me about what Dabo has built,” Griffin said. “The program is built more about being a great person than a great football player. Those people, they are just all built the right way and do the right things and that leads to big things on the football field.”

Griffin said he’s not sure he’ll take his Southern Cal visit, and a decision and public commitment may be coming up soon. Clemson is also recruiting his teammate LB TJ Dudley who is scheduled for an official visit this weekend.
