Covid-19 is continuing to create scheduling nightmares for college athletics and those headaches hit Clemson men’s basketball on Monday. According to Brendan Marks of The Athletic, Duke has postponed Wednesday’s matchup with the Tigers due to Covid issues within the Blue Devils’ program.
Tipoff for the contest with Duke had been moved to 2pm to avoid a conflict with the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando that evening featuring Clemson and Iowa State. Now it appears that Tiger fans won’t have to split their attention. Clemson will now carry its four-game winning streak into the “New Year” as the Tigers next outing is a rematch with Virginia on January 4th at Littlejohn Coliseum. Clemson picked up its first win in Charlottesville since 2008 with a 67-50 victory over the Cavaliers on December 22nd.
