It was mostly a good day Wednesday for USC football coach Shane Beamer as he announced a 2022 signing class of 20,high school newcomers into his program. Two previously committed prospects did not sign. LB Jaishawn Barham of Baltimore flipped on the Gamecocks Wednesday morning and signed with Maryland, a move Beamer said he expected to happen. And SAF DQ Smith of Spring Valley, who just announced a commitment Tuesday night, will not sign until February 2nd.
Otherwise, the day went as planned for Beamer who feels like they improved their team across the board. Also among the newcomers are Oklahoma transfers QB Spencer Rattler and TE Austin Stogner. The total number of spots taken in the class thus far is 25, and Beamer plans to add more from the Portal and for the February 2nd signing date.

I see that 247sports has DeQuandre Smith listed as a greyshirt. Also saw that some people heard he was a PWO. Seems like there is a lot of conflicting info on him. So he is going to be a signee and part of the team this upcoming season.
Smith text me this morning and said he would be signing February 2nd, he did not elaborate, but if the The Big Spur is reporting him as a grayshirt, I would trust what they are reporting.
Well it wasn’t really a report. Just noticed the greyshirt symbol on his profile. Saw at least one of their guys saying he was a straight up scholarship player last night, after other were commenting about him being a PWO. Then noticed that symbol today. Maybe it’s just a mistake.
