Clemson looked poised to pick up a conference road win at Miami, leading by nine with less than five minutes to play, before the Hurricanes went on a shooting barrage to close on a 19-5 run and pick up an 80-75 victory over the Tigers. Miami hit on six of its last seven field goal attempts and seven of its last eight free throws to overcome the deficit and hand Clemson its fourth loss in five games. The Tigers turned it over 11 times in the second half to help fuel the Canes rally.

Clemson (5-4, 0-1) was led by forward P.J. Hall, who scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Chase Hunter scored a career-high 15 on 5 of 7 shooting (3 of 4 3-pointers). Transfer David Collins stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists, but also committed five of Clemson’s 18 turnovers. Miami scored 21 of its 80 points off Tigers turnovers.

The Tigers return to action next Saturday against Drake in the Holiday Hoopsgiving tournament being held in Atlanta.
