Twenty teams practiced football on Thanksgiving, ten of them advanced to next week’s state championship games at Benedict College in Columbia. Friday night featured, as you might expect, some really tight games. Six of the ten games were highly competitive including both 5A contests. Gaffney held off Spartanburg in the Upstate, and the Indians were greeted by a parade of fans in cars when they arrived home, and Dutch Fork extended its unbeaten streak to 62 with a win at Fort Dorchester.
