Shane Beamer has taken his first USC team where few in the pre-season thought he could, and that is to bowl eligibility. The Gamecocks reached the six-win mark last night by defeating Auburn in Columbia. Beamer is making believers among Gamecock fans and outsiders, some of whom feel he should receive strong consideration for SEC Coach of the Year. What Beamer most wants right now is to be the coach of the night Saturday night when Clemson visits Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks have been made 14-point underdogs and will be trying to avoid a seventh straight loss to the Tigers.
