#STRecruiting Notebook 11-17 (UPDATED Wednesday Night)

WR Andre Greene Jr. of Richmond announced a commitment to North Carolina over Clemson and Georgia Wednesday night. Greene made an official visit to Clemson last Sunday and Monday. He also camped at Clemson last June and returned July 25th for the recruits BBQ. Greene made his official visits to North Carolina and Georgia in June. He also made an unofficial visit to North Carolina in July and was back in Chapel Hill for a game in October.

USC women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley Wednesday announced the signing of 6-3 Ashlyn Watkins of Cardinal Newman. Watkins is the second highly recruited in-state prospect to sign with the Gamecocks this month. The first was 6-0 Talaysia Cooper of East Clarendon. Watkins had been a target of Staley’s going back several years and she expressed joy in bringing her into her program. “We have known about Ashlyn since she was in the sixth grade, and it’s hard to believe the time has final come,” Staley said in a release. “We are excited for our FAMS to see what this young woman is capable of. Her impact should be immediate on both sides of the ball.” Watkins, whose decision came down to USC and North Carolina, has drawn national attention for her dunking ability. She has averaged 15.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks for her career.

USC target 6-5 Desmond Claude of Putnam Science Academy, CT was offered by Louisville.

2024 WR/RB Cortez Lane of Camden plans to visit NC State Saturday.

The mother of Dutch Fork WR Antonio Williams said Tuesday they planned to talk that might about their plans for this weekend. Their options are USC, Clemson or Georgia or staying home. Williams took an official visit to Ole Miss last weekend. He’s also taken an official visit to USC.

Clemson is one of the five finalists for DE Khurtiss Perry (6-3 255) of Montgomery, AL, and he will announce December 15th, first day of the early signing period. The others are Auburn, Alabama, UCF and Texas.

USC target DT Jeffrey M’ba of Independence JC, KS was offered by Oklahoma.

Clemson target LB Wade Woodaz of Tampa was offered by Iowa. He visited Clemson last weekend.

Chapin WR Zavier Short plans to take an unofficial visit toi USC Saturday. He’s been committed to Appalachian State.

Trinity Collegiate RB Reggion Bennett was offered by The Citadel.

2023 LB Troy Ford of Savannah was offered by Missouri. He has an offer from USC and is drawing interest from Clemson.

2024 QB Jadyn Davis of Catawba Ridge plans to visit Clemson Saturday.
