Will he or won’t he? #CCU head coach Jamey Chadwell says McCall’s status is unclear (AUDIO)

Coastal Carolina University is preparing to welcome its alumni back to campus this weekend as the school celebrates “Homecoming” with Georgia State in town. However, the biggest question surrounding the game is not about which donors will be on campus, but which quarterback will start against the Panthers. Redshirt sophomore Grayson McCall missed this past weekend’s win at Georgia Southern with an upper body injury. Senior Bryce Carpenter stepped in and guided the Chanticleers to a 28-8 victory over the Eagles on a rainy night in Georgia.

On Wednesday, head coach Jamey Chadwell tried to provide a little clarity with regards to the quarterback situation. During his Zoom press conference, Chadwell said McCall’s injury does not require surgery adding, “there is a potential that Grayson could play again, there’s the potential that he can’t. If the pain is such that it affects him playing to his best ability, he won’t play until that pain subsides.”
