One stick back. That’s all that separated the USC women’s basketball team from an appearance in last year’s national championship game against Arizona. However, Aliyah Boston’s rebound and follow shot bounced off the rim leaving the Gamecocks one point shy of taking out Stanford in last season’s national semifinals.
On Wednesday, the Gamecocks officially held the first of what they hope will be many practices in the 2021-22 basketball campaign. After the workout, head coach Dawn Staley met with the media via Zoom to chat about her very talented roster, how the newcomers are blending in with the veterans, and if the door is still ajar for a return to USA basketball.
