Dabo Swinney Sunday Conference Call (AUDIO) #Clemson

Dabo Swinney says he’s not about to give up on this season

Twenty-four hours after the upset loss at NC State, reality has set in with the Clemson football program. There will be no playoff appearance for the first time since the 2015 season. The 97 week stretch of being ranked in the AP top ten is over. And the 36-game winning streak against non-ranked teams has gone by the boards as well. Dabo Swinney said Sunday night he has accepted his team’s fate, takes full responsibility, and is ready to go to work to make something of the season.

The Tigers can still win the ACC Championship, win the state championship, and go to a high-level bowl game, but Swinney knows there has to be a lot of improvement all around for that to happen.

And there’s the injury situation as well. Swinney announced defensive tackle Bryan Bresee tore his ACL Saturday and will be out the rest of the season, However, the news on running back Will Shipley was much better. He did not suffer an ACL injury but more of a shin related injury. He’ll be out 3-4 weeks. And linebacker James Skalski, who injured his shoulder in the first quarter Saturday, will be fine.
