Two of the state’s top high school basketball prospects in the 2022 class have cut down their lists. One has USC on his list but not Clemson, and the other has Clemson on his list but not USC. 6-9 Perry Smith Jr. of Legacy Charter has a top eight of USC, Boston College, NC State, Iona, Tulsa, Hofstra, Alabama and Texas A&M.
6-6 Julian Phillips of Blythewood named a top ten of Clemson, Alabama, Kansas, LSU, Florida State, Tennessee, UCLA, Florida, Virginia and Southern Cal. Phillips took official visits to Clemson, LSU and Florida State in June.
2023 MIF/RHP Lee Ellis of White Plains, MD and 2023 RHP Tyler Pitzer of McDonald, PA committed to USC.
RHP Nathan Dvorsky of Suwanee, GA, 6-7 RHP Luke Brown of Apex, NC and 2024 2B/RHP Dion Brown of Clover committed to Clemson. Brown is the son of former USC football star Sheldon Brown.
Goose Creek OT Jayden Johnson committed to Howard.
