The SEC Wednesday released the home and away basketball league basketball opponents for each of the 14 teams. The Gamecocks will face their permanent opponents, Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee, along with Auburn and Vanderbilt in home-and-home series’ next season. Dates, times and television details will be released this fall.
In addition to its home-and-home series opponents, Carolina will also host Florida, Kentucky, LSU and Missouri at Colonial Life Arena in 2022.
The other road games in the league for the Gamecocks will be Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
Also, Gamecock head coach Frank Martin and his son, Gamecock forward Brandon Martin, will head to Spain next week as part of a group of all-star teams with USA East Coast Basketball. Martin will serve as head coach of the Blue Team, and he will be assisted by Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery and Jason Gilliam-Alexander (Florida Memorial), while Brandon will be a member of the White Team, which will be led by Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim, and assisted by Adrian Autry (Syracuse) and Josh Einhorn (Dartmouth).
The Martin’s will meet the rest of the team members and coaching staff at a two-day training camp at Manhattan College in New York City, before traveling to Valencia and Barcelona where the teams will face opponents from France and Spain. Martin also served as a head coach for a USA East Coast trip in the summer of 2014.
