#STRecruiting Notebook July 8th (UPDATED)

Clemson target DE Jeremiah Alexander (6-2 235) of Alabaster, AL Thursday committed to Alabama. It was the second time in the recruiting season Alexander committed to the Crimson Tide. He took an unofficial visit to Clemson June 1st, the first day recruits could visit with coaches go inside athletic facilities since the start of the pandemic. He visited Alabama four days later. Alexander is the top ranked edge rusher in the country and the #1 prospect in Alabama.

Clemson target LB DeMario Tolan (6-3 205) of Orlando committed to LSU. He also had Miami, Florida State and Tennessee on his short list.

Clemson target CB Daylen Everette of IMG Academy has set his commitment date for July 17th. Clemson, Georgia and North Carolina have been his top three. Everette made an unofficial visit to Clemson in early June. He took official visits last month to North Carolina, Georgia and Florida State. He also took an unofficial visit to North Carolina. Everette is rated a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and ranked the #7 cornerback nationally and the #7 prospect in Florida. He’s a native of Norfolk, VA.

Three USC targets are set to announce commitment decisions Friday afternoon. CB Nikia Martinez (5-11 170) of Apopka, FL will make his decision known at 3:00 PM on the USA Today Network. He’s down to USC, Florida and UCF. RB Ramon Brown (5-11 202) of Midlothian, VA will announce at 5:00 PM on CBS Sports Network HQ. He has USC, Penn State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Maryland as his final group. And CB Chris Graves (6-2 180) of Fort Myers, FL will announce his decision at 6:00 PM on CBS Sports Network HQ. His finalists are USC, Florida, LSU and Miami.

USC target DE Davin Jackson of Sumter will miss his senior season with a torn ACL He suffered the injury working out at a Clemson camp in June, and it was confirmed this week as a torn ACL. . He was a standout in a camp performance at USC and earned an offer from the Gamecocks. He will have his knee surgery July 29th and that will prevent him attending the USC cookout two days later. He plans to visit NC State a couple of days before his surgery. He made official visits in June to Coastal Carolina and Syracuse.
