#STRecruiting Notebook 6-30

The expected second commitment for USC Tuesday did not come by Midnight, so that one remains private at this point. Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer put out his commitment alert tweet Tuesday morning. That gives the Gamecocks three private commitments. Two plan to announce in the first week of July. Those three private commitments along with the public ones, and two transfers who will count with the class, have the Gamecocks with sixteen of the twenty-five spots filled.

TE Oscar Delp of Cumming, GA said Tuesday night he plans to attend the Clemson cookout July 24th and the USC cookout July 31st. He said he plans to wait until after those visits before deciding.

LB Abdul Carter of Glenside, PA said Tuesday USC, Ole Miss and Penn State are top three. He’s taken officials to USC and Penn State and will take one to Ole Miss last week of July. He also went unofficially to Ole Miss and camped at Penn State & Ohio St.

USC is in the top five with RB Jaylon Glover of Lakeland, FL along with Utah, Georgia Tech, Florida and Florida State.

CB Nick Cull of Donalsonville, GA named a top 6 of USC, Florida, Miami, Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss.

USC target WR Jayden Gibson of Winter Park, FL will name a top seven on July 7th.

2023 OT Luke Montgomery (6-5 260) of Findlay, OH has Clemson and USC in his top twelve. The others are Michigan State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Ohio State, Tennessee, Penn State, Notre Dame, Georgia, Georgia, Michigan and Alabama.

Heathwood Hall DE Rondarius Porter received a PWO offer from Tennessee. He has full ride offers from North Greenville and Newberry.

CB Jacobie Henderson of Catawba Ridge committed to Marshall.

Clemson target 6-4 MJ Collins of Westminster Catawba plans to announce his commitment Sunday. Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma are some other offers. He took an official visit to Clemson June 22nd.

Clemson is in final 5 for Portland State transfer 6-9 Amari McCray. The others are Grambling, BYU, Texas Tech and Penn State. Last season was his graduate transfer season, and he started the first 12 games before a knee injury suffered in practice sidelined him for the season. It was the second major knee injury of his career. He was averaging nearly 11 points and 5 rebounds per game before the injury. McCray started his career at Howard JC, TX and then played a season at Pacific. He’s a native of Ruston, LA.
