Jacobe Henderson

CB Jacobe Henderson (5-010 187) of Catawba Ridge camped at Clemson Thursday and USC Friday hoping to impress both staffs and earn a scholarship offer. Henderson believes he put on a good show for both staffs, and now he waits to see if his efforts will pay off.

“Most definitely both schools really like me,” Henderson said. “Clemson is going to stay in touch. USC was really excited to see me in person. I impressed them at the camp and will be building a relationship with them as well. I won almost all my reps and paid attention to detail.”

Henderson said he got encouraging words from his respective recruiters at Clemson and USC, Mike Reed and Torrian Gray.

“Coach Reed told me I had a really good camp and he wanted to keep in touch,” Henderson said. “Coach Gray said that I really impressed him, and I moved up on the recruiting board. He said they will be speaking to me soon.”

Henderson has offers from Coastal Carolina, Kent State, Army, Akron, Central Michigan, Marshall, Miami of Ohio and Middle Tennessee State. He went on an official visit this weekend to Central Michigan and will visit Marshall officially June 25th.

“Central Michigan was the first school to offer me,” he said. “They really loved my film and seem genuinely interested. They believe in my talent as an athlete. They have a great program. The coaching staff has really been great. Marshall, they just have overall great energy. Coach (Dominique) Bowman is always upbeat and seems to love competition. So, I’m excited to get to both campuses and see everyone in person.”

Henderson also visits/camps set with Virginia Tech for June 10th, Liberty June 11th, Duke June 12th, Wake Forest June 13th, Vanderbilt June 19th, Middle Tennessee June 20th and Georgia Tech June 21st.
