USC and Alabama will meet Tuesday afternoon around 2:00 PM in game two of the play-in day of the SEC Baseball Tournament. The winner advances to play Tennessee Wednesday in the double-elimination portion of the tournament. The Gamecocks and ‘Bama did not face off in the regular season. The Gamecocks finished with four more SEC wins than the Crimson Tide.

Gamecock coach Mark Kingston said Monday freshman CJ Weins will start on the mound. George Callil and Brennan Milone remain day to day while dealing with injuries.

The Gamecocks have won the SEC Tournament once, in 2004. They are 20 games under .500 all-time in SEC Tournament games.
