TE Oscar Delp (6-5 220) of Cumming, GA is one of the most sought after players in the country. His status further grew in April as he performed at a high level in various camps. USC and Clemson both have family ties with him, and it’s still be to be determined if those ties bind him to one of those programs, or he breaks those ties and goes outside the family.
Delp has scheduled official visits in June to Georgia on the 4th, Florida on the 11th and USC on the 18th. He plans to use his final two official visits during his season with Michigan looking good for one of those. He might use the other on Clemson, Oklahoma or Alabama. He is scheduled for an unofficial visit to Clemson June 3rd. North Carolina also might get an unofficial visit in June.
Both the USC and Clemson staffs are keeping in regular contact with Delp. Delp said he hears almost daily from Gamecock head coach Shane Beamer and tight ends coach Erik Kimrey.
“I’m talking with them all the time,” Delp said. “Really liking South Carolina a lot right now. Loving talking with all the coaches. Coach Beamer is awesome. Coach Kimrey is awesome. They are giving the tight end the ball. They showed that in the spring game. They think that I could come in there and make an impact as a freshman and make some plays. I really like what they are doing with the tight end position. I think I would thrive in an offense that uses the tight end like that. They’ve been sending me a lot of their film from spring practice just breaking down all the plays with tight ends getting the ball so I can just watch it on my own time. That’s been pretty cool. That’s been awesome. I’m just getting to see all the different ways that tight ends are getting the ball in spring practice.”
From Clemson, Delp has done FaceTime sessions with Dabo Swinney and is also hearing regularly from Tony Elliott and Brandon Streeter.
“We’re talking with all those coaches as well and we’re really liking all of them,” Delp said. “The message is Clemson is different. They do things different there. I’m the guy that they want and they are letting me know that. They are holding off on other players for me. They are taking one tight end. It’s family other there and it’s different. I can’t wait to get out there. I think we’re going to go coach Swinney’s house. They’ve got something cool planned. I’m really excited to do a bunch of stuff over there in June.”
Delp said his parents, two brothers, grandfather and uncle, who played at Clemson, will join him on the June visit. At this point, Delp isn’t planning a quick decision, but one never knows.
“If something happens before the season where I know where I want to go and there’s no need to wait, then I’ll commit right away,” Delp said. “I think I’m going to have to wait until the season just so I can get some game days and really get the full experience.”
Delp is rated a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and is ranked the #2 tight end nationally in the 2022 class. Last season he had 43 catches for 730 yards and 9 touchdowns.

- 2023 South Florence QB LaNorris Sellers was offered by Virginia Tech.
- 2021 ACC Freshman of the Year and co-Defender of the Year 6-7 Kamilla Cardoso is transferring to USC. Cardoso played for Syracuse in 2019-20, will be eligible to play in the 2021-22 season and have as many as four seasons of eligibility remaining. Last season she averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds per game. She also blocked 65 shots. Cardoso shot 57% from the floor and 60% from the line. She’s a native of Brazil.
