Dylan Brewer’s sixth-inning home run proved to be the difference in Clemson’s 3-2 victory, Sunday, as the Tigers finished off a sweep of Wake Forest at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, Sunday. Clemson won Game 1 of Sunday’s doubleheader on a walkoff homer from Davis Sharpe.

In Game 2, Clemson fell behind 2-0 before answering with an unearned run in the fifth inning. Sharpe’s sacrifice fly plated James Parker with the tying run to set up Brewer’s big blast. The win was Monte Lee’s 200th as head coach of Clemson (18-18, 12-12 ACC), who also swept the weekend series 3-0. It was also the first conference victory for the Tigers since Clemson took 2 of 3 from NC State April 2-4.

Caden Grice delivered his eighth home run of the season in Game 1, helping stake the Tigers to a three-run lead. Wake would tie it at 4, but Sharpe’s big fly ended the game in dramatic fashion.

Nick Clayton (5-1) picked up the win in Game 1 and Nick Hoffman (4-0) earned the win in Game 2 after throwing 3 and 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Clemson will take four days off before playing host to Louisville in a three-game set, starting Friday at 6 p.m.
